Nail infections are usually caused by fungi belonging to the genus Candida. However, they can also be caused by other fungi, as is the case with onychomycosis. This is derived from the dermatophyte Trichophyton rubrum, which is derived from the genus Trichophyton.
Now, among the factors that can cause the appearance of fungi are:
- The injuries.
- Poor hygiene.
- Overexposure to moisture.
When these three factors are combined, nail deterioration becomes even more visible and bothersome.
How do nail fungi act?
When Candida fungi proliferate, they cause various changes to the nails. First, they thicken the layers and deform them, causing immense pain to the person experiencing it, even if they are barefoot. In their most advanced stages, these fungi can cause nail loss.
Also, thanks to fungi, nails can change color, ranging from yellow to green and blue hues to black.
Aside from the treatment your doctor prescribes, you can try home remedies to get rid of nail fungus. These remedies are mostly made from very simple ingredients that you usually already have at home.
You must be clear that you cannot use all the remedies at the same time, nor is it correct to apply them only once. For a natural remedy to give you results, you need to apply it over time and wait until the condition disappears.
